Are these type of girls cute or creepy?

Posted by admin on January 28th, 2010 and filed under gallery girls | 13 Comments »

They’re called ‘ulzzang’ (ool-zhang) girls. What do you think?

http://www.ulzzanggirls.com/gallery.html

I’ve been taking after this style lately… But I wanted to know what other people thought if I look cute or creepy. Most of the style consist of circle lenses, Asian styled clothing, and cute makeup.

They’re kinda creepy looking. They look very plastic. I don’t digg it honestly.

What are some things in the arts community that I can do with a group of students?

Posted by admin on January 28th, 2010 and filed under young gallery | 1 Comment »

I’m a leader of a youth group ranging in age from 7th grade to 12th. Some of them are pretty talented young artists and I would love to get them involved in the arts. I just can’t think of anything to do with them beyond taking them to galleries and artists’ series. Does anyone have any ideas of cool projects or outings I can plan for these kids? I appreciate the input!
Thank you so much Thea! I really appreciate the support and I’m so excited to try both of those ideas. They’re great!

Hi Nita,

I think it’s great that you’re trying to get your students to recognize and utilize their talents. Bravo to you. We need more teachers like you!

As far as ideas I have… I think it would be great if you contacted your local government/representative to see if the students could paint a city mural in an area that needs a little sprucing up. You might have to go through a lot of chains to do that though.

Another idea is to somehow construct art "out of nothing". Each student would have to bring in some random objects that are considered "junk" and they all have to make some sort of modern sculpture out of it.

Hopefully you can make some use out of these ideas! Good luck and let me know how the group does. Post pics of their art if you can!

TEEN GUYS: Are Tan GIRLS HOT????????

Posted by admin on January 28th, 2010 and filed under hot gallery | 10 Comments »

do you like naturally tan girls, not this tan a little lighter
shes half black half white and i am too.
do you think shes hot?

http://images.askmen.com/galleries/singer/vanessa-williams/pictures/vanessa-williams-picture-1.jpg

what do you think she looks like.

her, no.

Tan girls can be hot, depending on how tan in relation to hair color. The darker you hair is, the more tan you can pull off. Natural Tan is preferred (latinas are babes, but I’m biased) If you’re bright blonde, or redheaded, avoid being too tan.

Are there any museums or art galleries in your hometown?

Posted by admin on January 28th, 2010 and filed under galleries | 1 Comment »

Are there any museums or art galleries in your hometown?
Did you ever go to art galleries or museums when you were a child?
Do people in China like visiting museums and art galleries?
What are the benefits (for people/for children) of visiting museums and art galleries?
Do you think teachers should take their students on visits to museums?
Do you think people can learn anything from art galleries and museums?

I live in a very big city , where there’s an abundance of galleries and museums , both council- run and privately – owned . In fact , there’s so many , I’m sometimes spoilt for choice, when several places put great shows on at the same time !
Yes , I have fond memories of being taken to both galleries and museums , and regard those visits as a key factor in my own artistic development ; I believe that , for creative young people , it’s one of the most crucial and inspiring thinga they can do
When they go , children learn what it is to see the most excellent , interesting , intriguing and aesthetic results of human thinking and creative endeavour ; in other words , they learn what it’s like to aim for genius and dignity . Plus . nowadays , it’s such FUN !
Teachers of all subjects should aim to take their pupils out to many different places of interest away from the classroom , as it’s a very important aspect of education and of social development .
When I was a teacher of art , for 30- odd years , I took groups , both large and small , out on countless occasions , an acheivement I’m proud of , because of the difference it often made ; one of my students told me that one such visit triggered off his ambition to become an architect , and he’ll graduate next year ! There are many other examples …
People can , and do , learn from being in museums and galleries , but more importantly , they learn to enjoy being there , eventually feeling relaxed , even in the company of what is awesome and breath- taking

I’m painting my room blue, what color should my accent wall be?

Posted by admin on January 28th, 2010 and filed under painting gallery | 4 Comments »

The blue is called "icy blue" by valspar and it’s exactly that, very very faint, sort of like a super pale aqua. Like this http://www.dominomag.com/images/galleries/paint/gasl_paint_rainbow_35.jpg
minus the kids stuff.
I don’t know what color to do the accent wall, I hate red and brown walls, and black is out of the question. My ceiling, door and trim is off white, like in the picture also.
Suggestions please.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:
http://www.sherwin.com/visualizer/

Would you consider an orange? b/c SW has a similar color called "icy" (# 6534), and they recommend "chivalry copper" (# 6353) to coordinate with it.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:
http://www.roomvues.com/
You can get color suggestions & they’ll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
