16 artists from Nevada competed to paint the official portrait of Governor Kenny Guinn. None of us got the chance to do the $20,000 portrait. The Nevada Arts Council, with the blessing of the Governor, outsourced the job to all 50 states. They picked this really awesome artist from Washington State. But many Nevadans, me included, think it should have been a state competition, and not a national one. So I decided to take one of my six audition paintings (the one I painted of Governor Kenny) on my own national “porcelan gallery” tour.
Way to represent the people who gave you your job in the first place Kenny! Both times you asked for my vote, I gave it to you. Too bad you wouldn’t give the people of Nevada the benefit of the doubt like we did for you.

Adam, I watched all six segments and they are excellent. You have true talent and not just in cutting hair or painting (although your work on canvas is also top notch). I look forward to your next video project. Maybe barber shop tales or strange tales from Nevada?

Oh yea, in case your wondering what ever happened to the painting, We raffled it off and donated all of the money to a NEVADA charity. The moral to the story is that we saved my state $10,000 dollars more than ole what’s his name gave away!
