sorry but i would pass. I dont think its girly but its more of the cross over look, I like some of them but this one looks more like something a dad with 2 kids would drive taking this over a mini van. I would keep looking personally.

Where would a great place for a young couple to live?

My girlfriend and I live in Dallas, Tx and are looking to move out of state. Employment isn’t an issue as I work from home. Looking for somewhere with a more moderate climate than the heat of Texas. also wanting a city rich with the arts, such as local music, symphonies, art galleries, museums… we are nerdy and artsy haha. We have looked into the San Francisco area but cost of living seems to be very high. Our rental budget is around 1400 a month. Any suggestions?

Highlands Ranch, Colorado is a great place. Its a large community about 20 miles south of Denver. Its a great place to live because it has everything…younger families, libraries, skate parks, and wildlife trails. this is some of my art… what are some things i could do to make my art better?

First of all, everyone has their own taste, and if you are happy with your work, there will be others who like it as well.

Secondly, things to improve on….
For your photography, I’d recommend playing around with different lenses, angles, and lighting. What I see, though good, is very flat and has little contrast. You need darkest darks and lightest lights to make the image more stimulating.

For your drawings, I’d say use real medium and a real surface (such as vellum paper or bristol board) to make the images cleaner…. UNLESS the postal boxes are part of the statement. Your linework is nice, I’d like to see images with a bit more to them.

The Burned Installation piece… that’s pretty cool, neat concept, pretty good execution. Sometimes less is more, sometimes more is more. I personally feel it may be a little cluttered and would remove 1 or 3 pieces of it.

And for ALL styles…. remember this, the Rule of Thirds. Put the subject that requires the most focus from your audience in 1/3 of your surface… on the left, right, or middle. It adds some added interest to the artwork and makes the audience’s eyes travel throughout the piece.
Also, ODD numbers of subjects are most aesthetically pleasing. So think of collections of things in odd numbers. Your burned artwork has 12 sections – I’d remove one to make it 11.

The IGM (Institute for Genetic Medicine) Art Gallery is on the campus of USC’s Keck School of Medicine.

The mission of The Institute for Genetic Medicine Art Gallery is to serve as an art-framed forum for open-minded, deliberative discussions on complex social issues that interface with the creative process and findings of research in molecular biology, health and social systems. Lynn Crandall is the director of the IGM Art Gallery.

A young film maker (Spencer Sullivan) has produced a documentary film capturing the essence and spirit of this dynamic institution. The song “Scarborough Fair” served as the “theme” of the film. Scarborough Fair is a beautiful traditional song describing a person being charged with a series of impossible deeds to achieve his “goal”.

Thus is modern society, being asked to do very difficult tasks inorder to move forward, remain civilized, and stay tollerent of other’s viewpoints.

Sung by an incredibly talented young voice (Hannah Sullivan) and accompanied by a young guitar virtuoso (Christopher Strombeck) this rendition of the classic troubadour ballet is truly “hauntingly beautiful”.

Are there grants for young galleries?

I’m the gallery director at a very new gallery in Lexington Kentucky. I don’t have a lot of experience with grants, and I’m wondering if there are grants available to help community galleries get started. Any thoughts on other ways to get going would help too!

There might be, depending upon where your gallery is, and how involved with the community it is.
Grant application involves a LOT of paperwork and writing. Do a websearch on how to apply for grants. You will most likely be able to find what grants are available in your area.
