I don’t think anyone assumes white. It is obvious that of the two “American” girls that were interviewed, one was most likely half black and the other was half white. When they stated that they are half Japanese and half American, they are referring to their nationality. I thought that they were both very interesting young ladies. It would be interesting to find out if the one girl ever made it to college in New York.

Why do people from Japan that are non pure Japanese born in Japan always say.. when ever they describe their ethnicity, they say they are half Japanese and half American, I mean American what?
