In the back of Horse Illustrated the picture gallery for reader submissions….?

How does one go about submitting a photo to H.I. for the photo gallery – I can’t seem to find any of my issues laying around.

I looked on the H.I. website, but I found was the criteria for professional photo submissions.

What are the requirements too for a phot for the picture gallery section? I know there’s usually only 4 photos printed each month – what makes them get considered for printing? I have a nice photo I’d like to submit, but don’t know how.

at the bottom of the section it says to send the photo with a few sentences explaining why your horse is special. You should say the breed, name, your name and address.
send the photos to:

Horse Illustrated, "In Focus"
P.O. Box 6050
Mission Viejo, CA 92690

or email to:

horseillustrated@bowtieinc.com with "In Focus" in the subject line

  1. I have submited cute/funny and pretty photos to magazines before even if there was no sumision info by just finding the address on the web and mailing it along with a letter. Sometimes it works, you could even email it. Sometims magazines do not advertise info for submisions becase of the volume of submissions received. So people who just mail or email a photo and a note anyway sometimes get printed. Send a copy and see what happens, they have a feedback link on their web page good luck.
